Wordpress: How difficult is it to set up the version loaded to your own server?
I want to set up a WordPress blog, and I'm thinking of adding the downloadable version to my website's host. Trouble is...I don't know how much hassle it is to set up the downloadable version.
Is it a real bother, where I have to know a lot of coding and have to set up all kinds of IPs, SQL, and other stuff, or is it as easy as the hosted-on-the-WordPress-site version?
Thanks!
Specifically, how easy is it to DESIGN a WordPress blog after it's downloaded to a host server? Is it as easy as selecting a template, and adding widgets via their click-and-drag interface? Or is it a real hassle with lots of coding?
The easiest way is to find a web host that provides 1-click instllation of WordPress. MediaTemple is a good example:

you don't need to upload the WordPress software.
My WordPress is there

Edit:
Wherever is your domain registered with, you have to direct them to MediaTemple, you'll find instructions on that there.
You also have other web hosts: hostgator has good reputation, but I didn't try them:
